Try dying, tea and coffee staining, and even painting Warm & Natural to give an antique appearance, add vibrant color or give a unique texture to your dolls.
| The soft, natural cotton goes through a gentle mechanical cleaning to pick out cotton plant and seed remnants. The tiny plant particles that remain lend a special look to crafts when used as an exterior fabric and will not damage your fabric when used in your quilt. Shrinkage will be about 3% with your first washing. Many quilters prefer not to pre-wash to achieve the unique effect created by the slight shrinkage of the batting when the completed quilt is washed. Please follow these directions if you wish to pre-wash your batt: - Hand wash in a basin or tub with a mild detergent. Do not agitate or spin in your washing machine.
- Soak for 20 minutes, then rinse several times.
- Squeeze water out. Rolling in a towel will help to remove excess water.
- Dry in a cool or warm dryer or allow to dry flat.
Once quilted Warm & Natural cotton batting can be machine washed again and again without fear of separation or bunching. | 100% cotton fibers are punched with hundreds of needles into a strong, thin base material to prevent tearing, shifting or migration. The needling process holds the fibers together without glue or resins. The evenly layered fibers stay in place inside your quilt even with generations of washings.

| I've used your product for many years based on my friend's recomendation and love it. I use it the quilts I keep for my family and the many I donate to Project Linus. I love its feel, the way it works with a quilt, and its weight for use on our bed. Love it. |

| My goodness!! This site was informative, to say the least. I had a gentleman inquire about making a king size quilt using only 100% cotton. In reading through the comments posted and your answers, this inquiry was answered and other questions I had were also answered. Thank you!! |

I am making a baby blanket for a friend. I was wondering if I can use this batting to complete the task, or if it will be too think and I will have to buy the quilting needle for my sewing machine. I saw that it was an 1/8th inch thick, but I would like some reassurance. -Hi Kortney, The batting is 1/8” thick and a quilting needle is advisable for your sewing machine but the standard needle that came with the machine will work just fine. |

what is the difference between warm tater cotton & warm & natural cotton? Hi! Great question, thank you! Our Warm Tater is straight 100% cotton batting, ideal for use in creating microwaveable bags. Our Warm & Natural quilt batting is natural cotton that is needle punched into a thin polypropylene scrim which allows you the freedom to quilt up to 10 inches apart. Warm & Natural needled cotton uses no chemicals, glues, or resins, so you know that it is gentle enough for even the youngest child. It will not separate or bunch nor will it beard while you quilt. Tiny tangles called "neps", which once led to dull needles, are nearly eliminated. |

Hi, love your product. Do you sell in bulk? Thank you! -Hi! And thank you! We are strictly a wholesale business and sell only to businesses. If you are a business owner, give us a call and we can set you up an account which allows you to buy in bulk. There are places online who sell our batting by the bolt, however it is retail pricing. I provided a link to Amazon.com below for Warm & Natural batting.

Hello, is this batting made of 100% cotton? Because the description says "100% cotton fibers are punched with hundreds of needles into a strong, thin base material to prevent tearing, shifting or migration.". At our guild meeting, some people said it was 100% cotton, others said it was not. Hi Sue! The Warm & Natural is 87.5% cotton and 12.5% Polypropylene. The polypropylene is that strong, thin base material described on the label. We call this a "scrim" which holds the cotton fibers together to prevent shifting and also giving you the freedom to quilt as far as 10" apart. We use only 100% USA grown cotton fibers to make our product-- no unnatural fillers, glue or resins. |

I just used this for the first time about a week ago and I love how easy it is to quilt with!! It is a wonderful product I will be using this from now on! My only problem is that I dont drive so I have a hard time getting to and from the stores, can I order from the company and have it mailed? Thank you for you question, Jacque! The Warm Company is strictly a wholesale and we only sell directly to businesses. You can set up an account online with one of our major retailers, such as JoAnn's Fabrics or Hobby Lobby, and you would be order to order off their website and have the product mailed to your door. I provided some links for you below. JoAnn Amazon |

Could you please tell me how to tell which side should be towards the quilt bottom? -Thank you for your post, Kelly. Good question! If you hold your Warm & Natural batting up to the light, you’ll notice that one side has flecks in it, natural leaf and stem remnants from the cotton plant. The other side does not. The side with the flecks should face your quilt top. The reverse side (without flecks) will go towards your quilt backing. |

Does this come in more than one thickness? I ordered one from JoAnns but cannot tell without opening the package. -Thank you for your question! All of our cotton battings are low loft and weigh 4oz per sq. yd., measuring around 1/8 of an inch thick. We are currently in development of a high loft cotton batting, coming soon! |

| I HIGHLY recommend the Warm Company products, I was introduced to them in 2003 when I started quilting. With this batting, after the quilt is machine quilted then washed, the cotton batting shrinks just enough to give the quilt that \"hand quilted\" crinkled look everytime! |
